Ulysse Nardin – For Those Who Are In Love With Astronomic Watches
History of Ulysse Nardin began in 1846 when Ulysse Nardin opened his watch brand. Sea chronographs manufactured by Ulysse Nardin were of bestquality and this contributed to fantastic popularity of the brand.
The company had great popularity up to the second half of the 20th century.
Then popularity of sea instruments diminished, because electronic mechanisms were invented. This was not an easy time for Ulysse Nardin that started manufacture of collector’s pocket watches and wristwristwatches. In 1983 the brand was purchased by Rolf Schneider. Rolf Schneider is not a watch maker, nevertheless, being a good organizer he began partnership with the best professionals, such as Ludwig Oechslin.
He suggested Rolf Schneider, who was searching for new ideas, to start production of astronomic watches. The well known Tellurium Johannes Kepler, Astrolabium Galileo Galilei and Planetarium Nicolas Kopernicus models entered the market as the result of the productive collaboration between Schneider and Oechslin. These wristwatch models are liked not only by astronomers, but by every person who likes interesting wristwatches of the highest quality.
One of the most brilliant wristwatches by Ulysse Nardin is the Perpetual Ludovice GMT – a cute timepiece with second time zone and other useful complications.
In 2002 UN presented the brilliant Freak wristwatch. This is the most unusual tourbillion ever created. The watch has a unique triggering mechanism.
The year 2003 was marked by presentation of the famous Sonata watch. This watch is an alarm clock that astonishes by its sound.
In 2010 UN presented the El Toro wristwatch. The El Toro possesses such functions as hours, minutes, seconds, second time zone, perpetual calendar and other useful complications. Those who like luxurious timepieces will undoubtedly love the El Toro model, since the timepiece is truly elegant due to its gold or platinum case. A wearer of this wristwatch has a cute possibility to admire the movement of the El Toro through the crystal case back. The wristwatch is waterproof up to 100 m. The watch comes with an elegant rubber or alligator skin strap. The El Toro is limited to 500 pieces. The El Toro watch model is really fantastic, like all other wristwatches by Ulysse Nardin.
